Free Hosting: How to Choose the Right Hosting For You
13 November 2006
If you want to start making website with free hosting, you will see that there’s so many free hosting offer. But which one is right for you? I mean, i know it’s free, but you gotta know what you need first. Sometimes, after you’ve done your website in a hosting, you realize later on that you need another host that can fulfill your website needs
Here i share some tips and tricks to choose free hosting before you make one and regret it.
First, are you a beginner? you dont really understand about html or any other coding thing. If so, try Bravenet. They have ready to use layout templates and you can edit the website without have to know html. They also have so many webtools like guestbook, poll, visitor tracking, etc. There’s banner advertising in it.
Now, if you are intermediate who understand html, try Freewebs. You can either use their template and edit it with your own html or build it from scratch. They have lots of “adds on” tools that might be very useful for your website. There’s little advertising bar above your site.
If you understand html and know how to use FTP, you better try 50Webs or Atspace, they have a good hosting and bigger disk space unlike another html free hosting site. There’s no banner or advertising here.
You understand php and would like to install some bloggin’ tools like cutenews or wordpress, Awardspace is the best hosting for it, you will get 200MB disk space and 5GB monthly traffic, also you can use your own domain in their hosting.
Now, if you need bigger bandwidth i have another good free hosting suggestion, it has no advertising, no bandwitdh limit but you can’t use your domain here, it’s only use subdomain. Try Ifastnet for bigger site with lots of visitor.
Well, in the end you better choose which one fit your needs better. Hope it helps. Next time i will try to give you some free hosting list with some description on it.
