Sanjaya - Is This The World We Created
7 April 2007
Everybody’s seems to talk about Sanjaya nowadays. At such a young age, 18 years of age, he raised from nobody to someone controversially mentioned everywhere very fast. There are people who likes him, there are also who dislikes him, and what makes it worse is, there are people who use him for their own advantage, or even for fun. For fun? for their own advantage? what the heck i’m talking about? well.. this is what i’m gonna write, in my own point of view.

Sanjaya Malakar, whether you like it or not, has made his chance to enter the top 20 for American Idol season 6, thanks to the judges. This means, as a matter of fact, those judges smell something potential from him. As the show went on, seems like he didn’t make it quite well, not as, at least, some of the contestants who really rise far above him, either in vocal quality or even appearance on stage. So, normally, he should be voted out from the competition, and case closed. But no.. it didn’t go that way. A site called votefortheworst.com found him as the valuable weapon to mock the American Idol, just like what they did with Kevin Covais, Kelly Pickler or as what they claimed as their successful work, Taylor Hicks. What they did, and still do until now is, they try to get people to vote for Sanjaya, so he will remain in the competition. Thus, if he makes it to the top, The American Idol will be nothing but a full garbage of jokes. Are they the only party or group who use Sanjaya? no.. to make it fair, of course, there are numbers of people still like him and want him to be there, and some other want him still just for laugh. So, here we are right now, he becomes a controversial matter.. hated, judged, mocked, laughed at, being used, but also loved.
I don’t want to emphasize on this, as so many people have, i want to emphasize it from the matter of our feeling. Let’s say, if you have a kid, and that kid is having a really heavy problem to face, and at the same time he still have to fight to prove that he’s not useless, at such a young age… what would you feel? can you imagine how it feels for him, to go week by week, still have to perform the best he can, while knowing he’s targeted by so many people, for their advantage? I’d say, do people these days don’t have a heart anymore? They laugh, they joke, they use him, just because he’s not their son i tell you.. i don’t think they’d do that if the person we’re talking about is their son, i’d bet every penny of mine for that. I don’t even dare to put myself in his position right now, cuz i’m sure it hurts so much for him.
Well, i’m not one of the person who support him.. i think he doesn’t make well enough to stay in there, to be honest. But I respect him and props him for being that strong, standing tall despite of what happen with him. i want him to lose proudly, to win respectedly, and judged proportionally, without any outside interference, whatever the reason is. Remember he’s still a kid, still have long future (hopefully), and please, don’t ruin this kid’s life for your own advantage guys.. let him perform in peace and show his best.

I guess it’s no longer a singing competition. All the people that can actually sing are voted off and Sanjaya and Haley stay.
